These are my contribution to the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap.
To me, holiday cookies should be distinct from the-rest-of-the year cookies. Of course I’ll happily eat anything I’m offered, but what I want to make are spicy or minty or eggnoggy or extra decadent or winter fruity.
Thus, Candied Cranberry cookies.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cranberry jam*
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- Melt jam and butter together. Combine with flour.
- Roll into cranberry sized spheres and then roll in sugar.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
* You can also use leftover cranberry sauce if you don’t mind the chunks, or lingonberry, red currant, or any other flavor of jam, really.
